Scott and I were headed to Raleigh yesterday for an overnight trip to see UNC play in the Dean Dome (something I have been dying to do since I was little). Well......Delta decided to delay our flight 3 hours due to the impending snow that NEVER happened! We were able to cancel and get our $$ back because of the weather. Since Gigi (my mom) was here to babysit we decided to make a night of it here in town! Scott took the afternoon off and we headed to the St. Regis (thanks to Starwood points). What an amazing hotel...definitely the nicest we have ever stayed in! They gave us a tour as soon as we arrived and treated us just like any other "high-rollers"! Our room was amazing--we LOVED it! We headed down to the bar for drinks and "quiet" chatting! It was so nice to connect...life gets busy so this was a perfect getaway right in our backyard! After drinks we explored the hotel then headed up to get ready for dinner. We went for an early dinner at Seasons 52 right near the hotel. There is a rooftop heated pool and hot tub so that was our next stop! Not a soul up there but us! It was such a fun evening and much needed time with my wonderful husband! We always want Elsie to know that Mommy and Daddy love each other and enjoy each others company so we plan to have nights away often! Not only do I love my hubs...I love spending time with him too! Elsie did great with Gigi...I think Charlie missed us more than she did :)

Thank you Mrs. Washington

My good friend Sarah's mom made this for Miss Elsie! Mrs. Washington was my "college mom" while I was in Cleveland! I have so many wonderful memories of being in the Washington home...laughing, eating, and just being taken care of. It means the world to me that Mrs. Washington took the time to make this for us! Mr. Washington sang in our wedding and spoke such kind, loving words over Scott and I at our rehearsal dinner. These people will always hold a special place in my heart. We love you!
